Sam, who has had a life-long interest in health and nutrition, completed his book Win the Food Fight and released it nationally in 1989. The publication appeared on a number of best seller lists. In 1995, he also released an audio book entitled The 10 Commandments of Making It On Your Own.
Chuck Carlise was appointed President of Grossman Company Properties in 1976 after having joined GCP in April of 1967 as Vice President of Operations. He was appointed Director in 1995. Prior to his employment at GCP, Chuck was Vice President and Senior Title Officer of Lawyers Title of Arizona, having advanced to that title at the youngest age ever in the history of the company.
Chuck, a graduate of Arizona State University, has been involved in various organizations including the Young Presidents’ Organization, International Council of Shopping Centers, Urban Land Institute, Shopping Center Industry Political Action Committee, Land Title Association, and the Right-of-Way Association. He has been on the boards and committees of the Foundation for Senior Living, the Hidden Springs Community School, Xavier High School Board and the Diocese of Phoenix Financial Development Committee.
W. Matthew Crow
Chief Executive Officer
Matt Crow has served as Chief Executive Officer of Grossman Company Properties since joining the firm in 1991. Prior to his position with GCP, he was an investment banker in New York and one of the founders of Citicorp Investment Bank’s international real estate finance group.
Matt received his MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Texas at Austin. He graduated with honors with a BA degree in History and a BBA degree in Management, also from UT-Austin. He is the past President of the Board of Directors of the Urban Land Institute – Arizona District Council, and has served on the Board of Trustees of the Heard Museum, as Vice Chairman of the Greater Phoenix Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, and President of Biltmore Area Partners. Matt is currently a member of World Presidents’ Organization.
John Grossman joined Grossman Company Properties in 2010 as VP of Development Projects and was named President in 2016. John is responsible for the Development and Design Management of Grossman Company Properties’ hospitality division, Classic Hotels & Resorts, where he is involved in all aspects of project conception, brand development, design direction, marketing and programming.
John received his Master’s in Real Estate Development from University of New South Wales, and a BA in Communication from University of Colorado at Boulder. Previously, John worked for Work Force Housing Associates, a San Francisco based developer specializing in residential in-fill projects throughout the Bay Area. In 2005, he began work with Greengate Property Group, a Sydney, Australia based developer specializing in Senior Accommodation. During his tenure with Greengate, John managed the development of more than 450 independent and assisted living units throughout greater Sydney.
John is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization and Urban Land Institute. His philanthropic endeavors include serving as a board member of Climate Ride and Vice President of the board of the Sam & Peggy Grossman Foundation. A strong passion for competitive sports, John played ice hockey at University of Colorado at Boulder (ACHA Division I) and is a former professional whitewater kayaker, having competed throughout the United States, Canada and Europe; in 2003 he won the World Surf Kayaking Championship in Ireland.
Executive Vice President
Richard Behr has served as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Classic Hotels & Resorts, a Grossman affiliate, since 2007. In 2019, Richard was named Executive Vice President of Grossman Company Properties, and he now serves concurrent roles. Richard leads the operations and profitability of GCP and a growing collection of hotels, while achieving optimum operating standards and efficiencies. Richard brings over 25 years of experience and leadership working with prestigious hotel companies including The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, Destination Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, The Phoenician Resort, Arizona Biltmore and Royal Palms Resort & Spa.
Richard has been the recipient of numerous industry awards bestowed by Mobil, AAA, and Conde’ Nast and was appointed to the Governor’s Tourism Alliance. In addition, he has served on the boards of the Arizona Hotel & Lodging Association, Phoenix Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Scottsdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. Richard earned a degree in Business Administration from Arizona State University.
Executive Vice President
Jake Gray joined GCP in 2011 and currently holds the position of Executive Vice President with Grossman Company Properties and Classic Hotels & Resorts. In this role, Jake participates in the overall strategic planning, acquisitions, financing, development and operations of the Company.
Jake is an active contributor to Arizona organizations that enhance our community and business environment. He is an active member of the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Partnership Forum Program and Vice Chair of ULI’s Young Leaders Group. Jake is also active with Valley Big Brothers Big Sisters and is currently serving as a “big brother”.
Jake holds a BS in Construction Management, minor in Business from Northern Arizona University and a Professional Certificate of Real Estate Development from Arizona State Universities Masters in Real Estate Development Program.
A. Ennis Dale
Senior Vice President
Ennis Dale joined Grossman Company Properties in March 1995 as Senior Vice President. Ennis had previously served as Senior Vice President of one of the country’s largest title insurance companies and as President of its real estate development subsidiary. Prior to that, he was responsible for the successful financial restructuring of one of the Southwest’s largest real estate development and homebuilding companies and refinancing in excess of $500 million of debt.
Ennis received his LLM (Taxation) from New York University, a Juris Doctorate, with Distinction, from Indiana University, as well as a BBA and MBA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Michigan.
Senior Vice President – Development and Construction
Stanley Gray is a 40+ year veteran of Grossman Company Properties and in his current capacity he oversees all development, operations, and construction activities, including expansions, renovations, tenant improvements, budgeting, capital projects and environmental issues for the GCP and Classic Hotels & Resorts’ portfolios.
Throughout his tenure at Grossman, Stanley has directly supervised the multi-million dollar expansions of several regional shopping centers, office buildings, and hotels including the complete renovation and expansion of the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa, the Arizona Grand Resort & Spa, Biltmore Fashion Park and Chris-Town Spectrum Mall. In addition, he has played a major role in the due diligence and assessments of potential acquisitions. Stanley is a graduate of the American General Contractors Association for Project Management.
Senior Vice President, Management
Since 1980, Anne McGoldrick has been involved in a wide range of management duties within the Grossman organization. Currently, she oversees the management, marketing and leasing of the Arizona properties as well as coordinates the Arizona Grand Villas program and sales efforts. Anne’s past positions with GCP include the coordination of corporate reporting requirements to our various partners and lenders, and she has held the position of General Manager of Biltmore Fashion Park, Town & Country, and Chris-Town Spectrum Mall.
Anne is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science degree and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She has participated in the International Council of Shopping Centers education programs and has served as the ICSC State Operations Chair. Anne holds an Arizona Department of Real Estate Sales license and currently serves on the Board of the Arizona Retailers Association.
Senior Vice President and CFO
Larry Coltharp joined Grossman Company Properties in 2005 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this capacity, Larry oversees all financial, treasury, tax and information technology functions. Larry brings over 30 years of experience to the company, having started his career in public accounting as an auditor with Touché Ross & Co. in New Orleans and Atlanta. He later held Director of Finance and Controller positions with several leading Fortune 500 and Fortune 500-equivalent international organizations in the Atlanta area.
Larry graduated with honors from the University of Louisiana Monroe with a Bachelor of Business Administration (majoring in Accounting). He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, having passed the exam on his first sitting. Larry is also a member of the National Association of Real Estate Companies and Financial Executives International.
Vice President of Risk Management
Melanie started her career at Grossman Company Properties in 1990. Having worked at a Chicago law firm prior to arriving in Phoenix, she began assisting in GCP’s Risk Management department and was promoted to Risk Manager in 1994. In 1999, she became Vice President of Risk Management and currently administers the multimillion dollar portfolios for both Grossman and Classic Hotels & Resorts. Throughout her tenure at Grossman, Melanie has also served as Asset Manager for Belmont Shores Mobile Estates and overseen a variety of corporate projects.
Melanie is a graduate of the University of Illinois with a BA degree in Economics. She also received her Certification in Risk Management from the University of Phoenix’s post graduate program. She has been a member of the Arizona Chapter of the National Safety Council and served as an organizer of the Southwest Safety Congress.
Vice President & Designated Broker
Andrea joined Grossman Company Properties in 1996 and was promoted to Sr. Property Manager overseeing more than 300,000 sq. ft. of commercial office space including the leasing, operations, budgeting, tenant improvements, capital projects and tenant relations for CBIZ Plaza, (formerly National Bank Plaza), and the Park at Chandler Business Center. During her tenure, following a complete renovation, CBIZ Plaza was named BOMA’s Building of the Year. In addition, Andrea has been a member of BOMA and chaired one of their Habitat for Humanity housing projects.
In 2009, she was promoted to Vice President and Designated Broker for GCP responsible for overseeing the leasing and sales activity for the GCP properties in the Valley.
Andrea is a graduate of Arizona State University, holds an Arizona Department of Real Estate Broker’s license and is a member of the Arizona Association of Realtors.
President – Grossman Family Foundation
Jim was the founder and developer of Hidden Springs, Idaho, a 1,700-acre, 848-home, national award winning and environmentally sensitive master planned community in northwest Boise. He also originated Boise’s first non-parochial independent K-12 school now known as Riverstone International School.
Jim graduated cum laude with a BA degree in Political Science from Colorado College, where he was also a two year college All American Skier. Jim was chairman of and organized the World Special Olympics Winter Games in Idaho in 2009.
