National Bank Plaza, Phoenix
In 1990, Grossman Company Properties purchased and assumed management of what was formerly known as Southwest Financial Plaza, a 265,600 square foot office complex in Phoenix's Central Corridor. This site includes a 16-story high-rise office tower, a two-story Garden building and restaurant and a six-story parking garage.
The complex, built in 1981 was primarily occupied by Southwest Savings and Loan. In 1989, the property fell to 35% occupancy following the takeover of Southwest by the Resolution Trust Corporation and the relocation of several large corporate tenants. Since purchasing the complex, Grossman has renovated the tower interior, creating an open air feel with spectacular views from almost every area of the building. Within two years, the office complex was 93% leased, filled primarily with strong professional firms including National Bank of Arizona.
Despite this exceptionally high occupancy, Grossman undertook another renovation phase. This modernization primarily entailed the exterior beautification, adding an inviting pedestrian focus to the property. The expanded glass-enclosed lobby, updated elevator cabs and newly appointed restrooms also added to the building's new look and feel. National Bank Plaza now offers a Class A environment and is one of the most desirable buildings in the Central Corridor. |
